What is a lunar eclipse and a blood moon?
A lunar eclipse occurs when the Sun, Earth, and Moon align. According to NASA, in a lunar eclipse, the Earth moves between the Sun and the Moon, and the Earth's shadow (or umbra) causes the Moon to be darkened.
In a total lunar eclipse, some sunlight, specifically colors with longer wavelengths such as red and orange, passes through Earth's atmosphere and bathe the moon in a reddish-orange glow. This coloring of the moon has earned the nickname "blood moon."

What is the Worm Moon?
Traditionally, various peoples, such as Native Americans, colonial Americans, and Europeans, gave nicknames to the different full moons throughout the year.
March's full moon earned the moniker "Worm Moon." While the name was once thought to have derived from earthworms that appear as the spoil warms and spring, research has revealed another explanation.
According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, the name comes from native American tribes that weren't describing earthworms but rather beetle larvae, which emerged from tree bark and other winter hideouts as thawing began.
